Privacy notice
Velista is a product of Groovy Holdings LLC, a New York company ("we"). This notice covers velista.ai while it is a waitlist. Short version: you give us an email, we use it to tell you about Velista, you can leave any time.
What we collect
- Your email address, which you type in to join.
- Where you sell, if you tick any of the optional boxes (eBay, Depop, Etsy, Vinted, Poshmark, Mercari, your own site).
- How you found us: the campaign tag in the link you clicked, or the name of the site that sent you. Just the site, not the page or anything about you.
- How many listings you keep live and a link to your shop, if you share them in the optional follow-up step.
- A referral code, if you joined through someone's link, so we can credit them.
- When you joined, and when you last updated your details.
- How you engage with our emails: whether you open them (through a tiny image in each email), which buttons you tap, whether you fill in the short form, and whether you reply.
- Feedback you send us about Velista.
- Your mobile number, only if you add it and tick the box to get texts. We keep the time you agreed and the exact wording you agreed to.
We use one cookie: if you arrive through a referral link (velista.ai/?ref=code), we set an affiliate-tracking cookie for 60 days so the person who referred you gets credit. Our emails carry a one-pixel image that tells us when an email is opened; it is tied to your waitlist entry only and is never shared with advertisers. Most email apps let you block images, which switches it off. We do not use website analytics, ad pixels, or any other tracking. Our servers see your IP address when you load a page or join; we use it briefly to stop spam signups and do not store it with your email. When you arrive through a referral link, we log the click with a scrambled code made from your IP address that changes every day, so we can spot fake referral clicks. We do not keep the address itself, and the click is not tied to your email. Our host may keep short-lived technical logs that include it.
Texts: we text only people who ticked the box, only about their beta seat and account alerts, never more than 4 a month. Reply STOP to any text and they stop; unticking the box on your form does the same. We never sell or share your number for anyone else's marketing.
Why we use it
- To send you waitlist updates, early access invites and launch news about Velista.
- To decide which marketplaces to support first, using the platform choices in aggregate.
- To see which links bring people in, so we know where to spend our time.
- To see which updates are useful, so we send fewer of the ones that are not, and to pick early testers who are actively interested.
If you are in the EU or UK, our legal basis is your consent, given when you join. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing, and withdrawing does not affect anything we did before.
Who else sees it
We never sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for advertising. A small number of service providers handle it on our behalf and only to run the waitlist:
- Hosting and database: Railway, which runs the site and stores the list.
- Email delivery: the email service we use to send updates.
- Fonts: the page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to a successor if Velista or Groovy Holdings is sold or merged, under the same promises made here.
Where it lives and how long
Your information is stored in the United States. If you are outside the US, it is transferred there. We keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until the waitlist ends. If you unsubscribe we keep your email on a do-not-contact list so we never email you again by mistake.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe with the link in any email. We act on it promptly, and always within 10 business days.
- See, correct or delete what we hold about you, or get a copy, by emailing privacy@velista.ai. We answer within 30 days.
- EU and UK residents can also object to or restrict our use, and can complain to their local data protection authority.
- California residents have the right to know, delete and correct, and we will not treat you differently for using them. We do not sell or share personal information as California law defines it.
Do Not Track: we do not track you across sites, so browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals change nothing here; there is nothing to switch off.
Kids
Velista is for people who sell online, and the waitlist is not meant for anyone under 16. If you think a child has signed up, tell us and we will remove them.
Security
The list sits in a private database over encrypted connections, and only we can export it. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
Changes
We will update this notice when Velista launches, since the product will collect more than a waitlist does. When we make a material change we will email the list before it takes effect and change the date at the top.
